On 14th April the Rotary Clubs of Carmarthen Tywi and Carmarthen joined forces to assist in the annual Know Your Blood Pressure Day. The event was held in St. Catherine's Walk where an event trailer kindly provided by Gravells of Kidwelly was staffed by 4 local nurses who gave up their time to take the blood pressure of willing volunteers. During the course of the day a total of 123 persons had their blood pressure taken. The importance of monitoring your blood pressure was re-enforced as 23 persons were referred to their GP within 1 week and a further 29 were recommended to see their GP within 1 month.
In recognition of the support given to the event by local nurses for several years, Carmarthen Tywi Rotary Club presented Community Awards to Alison Lloyd-Thomas and Rhoswen Davies.
